(KNSI) – This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Zonta Christmas House, and the committee is taking a risk by changing how the event is run.
Chair Deb Kellerman tells KNSI News that it is moving from a private residence to a St. Cloud business. “We are being sponsored by a corporate business who has these little showrooms throughout their facility, and it has [the] same number of decorators and so forth, but has opened it to be mobility friendly.”
Kellerman explains how the relationship with Traditional Floors and Design came to be. “They were a decorator last year, and they had never been one before, and when they saw the concept of, ‘Oh, each room is done different. Well, we have those things, and, gosh, you don’t need to do stairs and stuff.’ So, they reached out to us and said, ‘Would you be interested?'”
The event runs next Friday and Saturday at 1800 Highway 23 in east St. Cloud. Tickets are $20. A link to purchase yours is here.
Kellerman says the new layout will allow everyone to participate, and from a business’s perspective, getting traffic in the door is the point. Having over 1,000 people walk through a commercial building is much easier to sell than through a couple’s home.
An additional perk is that a Christmas warehouse will be set up with local vendors. The event will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. All proceeds benefit Zonta International and the St. Cloud chapter, which contributes to a variety of women’s causes in the area.
