(KNSI) – St. Gabriel’s is celebrating recognition from the Center for Rural Health, which placed the Little Falls hospital in the top 25% of small-town facilities nationwide.

The honor is based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX. It takes into account three metrics. St. Gabriel’s was chosen for quality of care. Hospital President and CEO Steve Smith says, “This top quartile ranking in quality isn’t just a number; it represents the improved health and well-being of countless patients. It’s a direct reflection of the compassion, skill, and dedication our staff bring to work every single day. Thank you for your tireless efforts and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.”

The rankings were released in conjunction with National Rural Health Day. St. Gabriel’s was one of roughly 40 Minnesota hospitals to make the list. By comparison, the states of Arizona and California had only three each and Illinois tallied just eight.

St. Gabriel’s offers emergency room and primary care services, plus a range of other specialized treatments. It serves Morrison County and the surrounding area.
