(KNSI) — The makeup of Minnesota’s Congressional delegation will remain the same after Tuesday.
In District 1, Republican incumbent Brad Finstad fended off a challenge from Democrat Rachel Bohman.
In District 2, Democratic Representative and incumbent Angie Craig is returning to Washington, D.C., after voters chose her over Republican challenger Joe Teirab.
The District 3 seat was vacated by Democratic Congressman Dean Phillips, who chose not to run for re-election to focus on a bid for the White House. Republican Tad Jude and Democrat Kelly Morrison squared off for the seat, with Morrison emerging victorious.
In District Four, Democrat Betty McCollum won her seat again over Republican May Lor Zhong.
Controversial Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D, CD5) is returning to Washington, D.C., after being selected over Republican Dalia Al-quidi. Omar, who is Muslim and a member of “The Squad,” has made anti-Israel and anti-semitic statements in the past, saying, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” She also said Jewish students are “pro-genocide” after they condemned the October 7th attack by terror group Hamas on their homeland and seemed to blow off the 9/11 terror attacks in the U.S. as “some people did something.”
Republican Sixth District Congressman Tom Emmer will return to his seat after beating Democratic challenger Jeanne Hendricks. Emmer has held the seat representing part of central Minnesota since 2015.
Republican Michelle Fischbach also won reelection to a U.S. House seat representing Minnesota’s 7th District on Tuesday. Fischbach had former President Donald Trump’s endorsement when she turned aside a primary challenge in August from populist Steve Boyd, who had blocked her endorsement at the district convention. Fischbach’s Democratic challenger was A.J. Peters, of Browerville.
In District Eight, Republican Pete Stauber handily won re-election over Democrat Jen Schultz.
