(KNSI) – The Tri-County Humane Society will hold its final public microchip clinic of the year this week.

TCHS workers say microchips are the only permanent form of identification for pets, giving pet parents peace of mind and helping TCHS reunite lost animals with their owners.

Thanks to a generous grant from Subaru, microchips will be offered for free. Donations are welcome, and attendees are encouraged to help “stuff the Subaru” with items from the shelter’s wish list. The TCHS wish list can be found by clicking here. Pet Evolution will also be on-site with its mobile nail trim van, and the For Pets’ Sake Thrift Store will be open during the event.

The clinic runs Thursday, October 17th, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Appointments are not needed.

So far this year, TCHS has administered 265 microchips at low cost and no cost clinics. Pet owners can also get their animals microchipped year round by appointment for $20 plus tax at the shelter.
