(KNSI) – A pair of local players will be inducted into the Minnesota Softball Hall of Fame at the end of the month.

For the past 44 years, Ron Ehoff of Little Falls and Bill Goetz of St. Cloud have spent their summers on the diamond. They are teammates on the Minnesota Merchants Softball Team, which took fifth place at the USA Softball 60+ National Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, last month.

You can find both competing in Sauk Rapids when playing in central Minnesota. Ehoff has amassed a better than .700 batting average in his slow pitch career. He also has slugged 650 home runs. Ehoff began pitching only 13 years ago and now has over 700 wins or better than 50 per year.

Goetz has over 4,000 games to his record and has been on the right side of the final score around 85% of the time. He has won two national championships.

Goetz and Ehoff are the only slow pitch players in this year’s Hall of Fame class.
