Becker Man Dies in Saturday Night Motorcycle Crash

(KNSI) – A 58-year-old Becker man is dead after a motorcycle crash Saturday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Garrett Dawson was driving his 2016 Harley Davidson Road Glide Custom west on Highway 12 from Carlson Parkway in Minnetonka around 7:45 when it struck the concrete curb. Both Dawson and his passenger, 58-year-old Melissa Varner, were tossed from the bike.

Investigators say neither Dawson nor Varner were wearing a helmet, and alcohol was a factor.

Dawson was pronounced dead at the scene. Varner was taken to North Memorial Hospital for treatment of what the state patrol said were non-life-threatening injuries.
