(KNSI) – BooFest is your last chance to visit the Pine Grove Zoo in Little Falls this year.

Director Marnita VanHoecke explains, “We actually close for the season on October 13th. Then we are open for just those three hours on October 19th, and then we are closed until mid-April.”

A staple of the calendar since 2001, BooFest has evolved into a family fun day with bounce houses, children’s activities, themed carnival games like Otter Toss, trick-or-treating, and a tour of the animals. Most importantly, don’t forget your witch’s hat or vampire cape. Most days at the zoo, the animals make the guests’ day. VanHoecke loves how that flips during BooFest, but only if you come dressed in a costume.

“We have two tigers here, and they really do enjoy watching the costumes. So do our bears. They really enjoy it. And our primates love to see the different costumes. All the other animals just love to see the people.”

The event is Saturday, October 19th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $8, less than the typical general zoo admission. Buy advance passes here.
