(KNSI) – October at the Paramount Center for the Arts begins with a tribute to one of the greatest classic rock groups of all time and ends with a touching nod to overlooked composer Henry Mancini.

The Fabulous Armadillos will pay homage to Pink Floyd from Thursday, October 3rd, through Saturday, the 5th. The show is titled Floydian Slip. It is a unique experience that includes a live performance of the album “The Dark Side of the Moon” in its entirety, choreographed with video and a light show.

Husband-and-wife duo Mollie B and Ted Lange present SQUEEZEBOX on Monday, October 7th. It’s polka, polka, and more polka. All nationalities and musical styles are woven together in a way only members of the International Polka Association Hall of Fame can manage.

The second week of the month includes the annual TEDx conference, which will feature six speakers and two artists presenting on the theme of “hope.” They all approach the topic from a different perspective, making for a one-of-a-kind, thought-provoking event.

Country music singer RaeLynn made a name for herself on The Voice and had a string of radio hits like “God Made Girls.” In recent years she has added children’s author to her skillset. Listen to her tell stories of heartbreak and Southern charm on October 12th.

The music spills over to a GREAT Theatre play from the 18th to the 27th. Waitress focuses on Jenna, an unhappily married pie maker and server. Her fortunes change when she enters a baking contest. The musical takes a humorous look at small-town life with a soundtrack you’ll sing for weeks.

The final performance of the month is on the 29th. The group Jukebox Saturday Night celebrates Henry Mancini’s 100th birthday by playing timeless melodies from movies like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “The Pink Panther.” Mancini’s musical contributions spanned beyond the silver screen. After serving in World War II, he joined the Glenn Miller Orchestra, where he prepared for a long tenure in Tinseltown.
