(KNSI) — A Sartell man is charged with felony domestic assault after allegedly strangling a woman Sunday night.
A woman told police 49-year-old Shawn Peter Willis forced her to go with him to a restaurant, where she says he had several beers. She says at one point; he started arguing with her and causing a scene. She says they went home, and he strangled her and pushed her into a cabinet. She told investigators she went into a closet to escape.
There were two children in the home at the time of the assault. The criminal complaint says one of them called the police after they heard Willis yelling.
Willis is also charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault. His next court appearance is March 29th.
