(KNSI) — One person was killed, and six others were injured in a crash near Princeton late Saturday morning.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol’s preliminary crash report, just before noon, 36-year-old Ulysses Chase of Harris was driving east on Highway 95 when he crossed the center line near 120th Avenue and hit a Chevy Equinox head on. Chase was pronounced dead at the scene. A 41-year-old woman and two kids in Chase’s Buick LeSabre, ages 13 and 11, were all hurt. The driver of the Equinox, 63-year-old Geralyn Weitzel of Menomonie, Wisconsin, suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment. Two other people in that vehicle, a 38-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl, were taken to Fairview Northland in Princeton. They are expected to survive.
The state patrol says no one in Chase’s car was wearing seatbelts, while everyone in the Equinox was buckled up.
