(KNSI) – St. Cloud needs more volunteers to ensure next week’s Minnesota Senior Games go off without a hitch.

The event draws around 700 athletes from all over the Midwest, who will participate in 15 Olympic-style events between August 15th and 18th. Organizers are looking for 50 more sets of hands. The activities that need help the most are pickleball, track and field and table tennis.

For every volunteer shift a person works, they will be entered to win one of three $50 Visa gift cards. All volunteers age 21 and older will be invited to a social event on August 17th at Back Shed Brewing in Waite Park.

The Minnesota Senior Games celebrates health, fitness, and the competitive spirit of older adults. The annual multi-sport event is a chance for athletes to showcase their skills, compete against their peers, and enjoy the camaraderie of other competitors.

St. Cloud also hosted the games in 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2023. The winners of the senior games in St. Cloud will advance to the national competition in Des Moines, Iowa, next year.
