(KNSI) – A central Minnesota company will help a family in Avon with some needed home repairs.
Jean Studniski and Bradley Olson are the winners of Oberg Roofing & Remodeling‘s 2024 Roof Rescue program. Not only will they be getting a new roof, but Oberg’s is also installing new insulation and gutters to help rebuild the home.
KNSI News spoke with Jean just moments after she found out. “I’m kind of shocked because we don’t like to ask for help. So, it was really hard. I guess you find out who your true friends are that helped you out. I’m shocked. I’m really floored because I never thought we would get picked.”

Multiple people nominated them. The top of their home was damaged by severe weather nearly 15 years ago. The couple missed a deadline to report the damage, and the repairs were denied by their insurance company. Over the years, as they raised their family there, the damage got worse. Jean explained why they stayed and lived with the damage. “It’s the community, the small-town feeling. You’re away from town. But yet you’re close enough to St. Cloud.”
Work will start in the home in August. Oberg gives away one roof to a family in need and one to a veteran in need every year. They will pick the winner of the veteran’s roof repair project next month.
