(KNSI) – Authorities say no one was hurt when a train derailed in Sherburne County early Saturday morning.
Fifteen cars carrying consumer goods came off the track near Big Lake around 3:15 a.m. The derailment snarled train schedules over the weekend as freight trains were rerouted around the site.
Northstar was forced to cancel a train bringing fans from Big Lake to Minneapolis to watch the Twins game. Crews worked over the weekend to clear the site and resume normal operations.
Service resumed on Monday morning for both commercial and commuter traffic.
