(KNSI) – CentraCare Hospice has obtained the highest possible certification in the We Honor Veterans program.
The Level 5 partner distinction is difficult to obtain. CentraCare Hospice is the only facility in Minnesota that has successfully met the criteria. A press release says it took countless hours of work among the staff to secure.
The WHV website says a Level 5 partner is expected to “expand and mentor.” Expand means to grow partnerships with other area organizations and hospice providers. To facilitate that, staff should instruct and train those groups in a mentorship role
Specialties include a focus on injuries and other conditions related to service in Vietnam. WHV is overseen by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. Senior Director of Veteran Services Katherine Kemp says, “When we set out to create the Level 5 WHV program, we knew it had to be rigorous to ensure partners who earned the title were truly delivering a better care experience for Veteran patients and their loved ones.”
CentraCare Hospice Senior Director Kristy Husen says serving veterans is an honor. She adds, “Achieving Level 5 WHV designation is a testament to our staff’s commitment to providing the best possible care to our patients and their families, especially at end of life.”
