(KNSI) — Authorities say the technical issue plaguing the Benton County Sheriff’s Department and Sauk Rapids nonemergency phone lines Thursday has been fixed.
Callers heard a series of dial tones and clicks which sounded like the call didn’t go through. The call did connect, but the two sides couldn’t communicate due until several seconds into the call.
According to Sheriff Troy Heck, the problem was likey due to an upgrade to the Public Safety Answering Point system. Emergency calls to 911 were not affected.
