(KNSI) — Authorities have released the name of the teen who drowned at Quarry Park Tuesday afternoon.
The Midwest Medical Examiner identified the boy as 17-year-old Emmanuel Seward Junior of Brooklyn Center. His cause of death was ruled an accident.
At about 4:15, a 911 call came in saying the teen jumped into the water from a ten-foot-high cliff at Quarry 11 and didn’t resurface. Witnesses went in after him, but couldn’t find him.
The Stearns/Benton Dive Team, Waite Park and the St. Cloud Fire Departments deployed boats and started searching for the boy. His body was found around 8:45 p.m. in 31 feet of water.
