(KNSI) – People curious about how maple syrup is made can go to a maple syrup open house tour at Kraemer Lake – Wildwood County Park.
Wildwood Ranch Maple Syrup is offering smaller open house tours of the maple syrup process. They’re about an hour long and started at the Sugar Shack in St. Joseph. Tourists will go on a short walk to the maple forest to see traditional and modern ways maple sap is collected with buckets and vacuum pipelines.
Once inside the sugar house, visitors will be shown how processing equipment like reverse osmosis machines and evaporators are used to convert maple sap from the trees into maple syrup.
Tours will be offered at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 p.m. on Sundays, March 14th, 21st, 28th, and April 11th. Registration will be required. Do that by clicking here.
Face coverings will be required, and mud appropriate footwear is recommended for the walk in the forest.
Wildwood Ranch Maple Syrup is located inside Kraemer Lake – Wildwood County Park and has been a family-run, modern maple syrup operation for over 40 years.
