(KNSI) – Veterans Bridge will be closed for most of June in St. Cloud.
The span connects East St. Germain Street with 1st Street North and is one of two crossings over the Mississippi River in the downtown area. The shut down begins on Monday, June 3rd, for planned maintenance.
Drivers and pedestrians will need to find an alternate route. Highway 23 is about two blocks south. Other bridges in the area are Highway 15 in Sartell and University Drive about a mile south of downtown near the campus of St. Cloud State.
A westbound lane of 1st/2nd Street North will be closed until 9th Avenue North while the project is ongoing, as well.
