(KNSI) – The weekend is getting off to a hot start thanks to St. Cloud Area Restaurant Week.
Flavoring with a kick is the focus for Friday’s “Hot to Trot.” Chefs will pull from all corners of the globe to show just how sublime some spice can be. Cajun, shrimp ramen, a plate done up as art—it’s all on the menu, says Visit St. Cloud Executive Director Rachel Thompson.
“Taqueria Don Choy, we’ve got their nacho bowl and something really interesting about that…I didn’t realize how they serve it. It comes out in a bowl with chips that are arranged that looks like a giant flower.”
As the old saying goes, some like it hot! So, how will the rest of us with the quintessential Minnesota palate fare? Thompson says everything works on a sliding Scoville Scale. There are options that run the gamut.
“Bravo Burrito has different levels of spice. So, they are putting their hot sauces — Of course, there are some that might kick you a little bit, but there are some that I think you can handle, especially if it’s in a wonderful burrito from them.”
