(KNSI) – A familiar face is hoping that the third time is the charm on the Sartell City Council.

Pat Lynch served on the board from 2007-2010 and again from 2015-2018. He has announced his candidacy for elections later this year. Lynch is citing the decision to sell the golf course as the spark for getting back into the local political scene.

He actively opposed the action with a Facebook campaign. The group “Sartell-Stop the Fire Sale” eventually gained hundreds of supporters.

Not wanting to dwell only on the negatives, Lynch says he is excited about the prospects of the Mill District and the city’s growing medical hub near County Road 120.

If elected, Lynch intends to prioritize economic development, fiscal discipline, and public safety. He says, “Sartell is well-positioned to grow in the future, and we need strong, experienced leadership to help guide the city into the future.”

The filing period for local offices runs from Tuesday, May 21st, to Tuesday, June 4th.
