(KNSI) – Spring wild turkey hunting licenses are now on sale.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says licenses can be purchased online, over the phone by calling 888-665-4236 or at locations that sell hunting and fishing licenses.
The licenses allow people to hunt statewide, with the exception of a few popular wildlife management areas. A permit lottery has already taken place for turkey hunting in the Carlos Avery, Mille Lacs and Whitewater areas.
The DNR also advises that license agents will survey hunters and ask which permit areas they plan to hunt in. The agency says it helps them manage Minnesota’s turkey population.
The season opens on April 14th.
