(KNSI) – The St. Cloud area sees 72 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths on Thursday, per the Minnesota Department of Health’s latest situation update.
The deceased are a Sherburne County resident in their 60s and a Stearns County resident in their 70s. Overall, Minnesota reports 14 new COVID-19 deaths Thursday.
Statewide, there are 949 newly identified cases found out of nearly 69,000 COVID-19 tests processed on Wednesday. That’s a one-day test positivity rate of 1.4 percent, one of the lowest rates seen in the state during the pandemic.
Local new cases include:
- Five in Benton County
- Nine in Morrison County
- 20 in Sherburne County
- 22 in Stearns County
- 16 in Wright County
As for vaccines, just over half a million Minnesotans are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The state has administered nearly 1.5 million doses as of Tuesday.
