(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 788 new cases of COVID-19 and 17 deaths statewide Wednesday. It’s the highest death count since February 12th.

Wednesday’s COVID-19 deaths include a Wright County resident who was in their 80s.

Around St. Cloud, there are 53 newly confirmed cases: 11 in Benton County, two in Morrison County, 11 in Sherburne County, 18 in Stearns County and 11 in Wright County.

Out of 20,512 COVID-19 tests processed on Tuesday, 3.8 percent were positive.

As for vaccinations, roughly 20,000 more Minnesotans have gotten their first vaccine dose within the last day. A total of 928,963 people have at least received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine so far, representing 16.7 percent of the state’s population.
