(KNSI) – Some of the 94 cats brought to the Tri-County Humane Society have already found homes.
Police removed the cats from a house in Crosby during an investigation into animal hoarding. Executive Director Marit Ortega says they became available for adoption on Wednesday.
“Some of them are still on medical holds. There’s some that are sick that we’re treating and others that still need to be spayed or neutered. But we did have our first Crosby cat adoption yesterday. So, Kramer the cat got home, and we’re super excited for him. We also do have five others with deposits. And we’re accepting other deposits.”
Ortega explained while the cats are ready to be rehomed, they’re still finding some people who’ve been missing their feline friends. “We received an email and a phone call from people in Sartell. They said ‘We think you have our cat,’ and when we received the pictures, it was just without a doubt all of the markings lined up.”
After a six-month hiatus, the cat was reunited with its family last Saturday. No one knows how the cat got from Sartell to Crosby. Another cat was reunited with its family after seven years, thanks to a microchip.
