(KNSI) — St. Cloud Metro Bus’ plans for a second transit site are barely in drive and already are held in high regard.
The local mass-transit service and KLJ Engineering earned the American Council of Engineer Companies’ Engineering Excellence Award. The plaque was in the environmental category.
According to a press release, they received recognition for completing documentation around purchasing two parcels in Waite Park, where the second centralized station will be.
The site will be at the intersection of 2nd Avenue South and Sundial Drive in Waite Park. The organization says it will increase efficiency by allowing shorter trips for the average rider.
Metro Bus in St. Cloud averages about 50,000 riders per month.
