(KNSI) — The Minnesota Wild are adding some local depth to their bench by signing St. Cloud State University Husky Men’s Hockey standout defenseman Jack Peart.
Peart and the team announced the three year entry level deal within days of the Husky’s season end. The curtain came down on the season on March 22nd at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, thanks to the Denver Pioneers beating SCSU 5-4 in overtime.
Peart was named to back to back Second Team All NCHC honors during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons. In his college career, he has notched eight goals, 47 assists, and 55 points. He is number 15 on the list of most D-men with assists and 20th among defensemen for points.
Peart hails from Grand Rapids, Minnesota and was named Mr. Hockey in 2021. That honor goes to the most outstanding senior high school hockey player.
He dons the maroon and green starting with the 2024-2025 season and is already working out and skating with the Iowa Wild. Peart is the seventh highest draft pick in SCSU hockey program history.
