(KNSI) – A St. Cloud businessman has reached a milestone by leaving his children a chance to build their own legacy.
Tim Coil, owner of Coil’s Flags and Flagpoles, purchased MN Tarp & Liner for his sons Adam and Nate. “It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to buy a business for my boys to run. And I now have fulfilled that dream.”
The company was a division of Rock On Trucks for the last 23 years, owned by Kevin Vierkant. Tim recalled to KNSI News that Kevin was in the store to buy a flagpole on a Saturday morning in July when things got rolling. “We start talking and next thing I know, he says ‘You know that this tarp and liner business is a great business, but we got to find a way to sell it because our other business has gotten too big.’ and I said, Kevin, we need to talk.”
It took a little time to complete the deal, and on February 2nd, the Coils took over. Now, it’s Adam and Nate’s turn to operate. “They can put their time and energy into a business to build their own. The business is already built; we just need to continue going forward and making it even better. And the two boys have the energy to do this.”
The previous owners are training them to learn all the ins and outs of the business. Tim says it’s rewarding to help leave something that can take care of the family for generations.
The company installs tarps on commercial semi-trailers and dump trucks that haul gravel, dirt, rock, or any other heavy-duty material.
Coil’s Flags and Flagpoles has been in business for 42 years and has been owned by Tim for the last twelve.
