(KNSI) – The first-ever Foley Community Connect Expo is scheduled at the high school on Saturday, March 23rd.
It is meant for all ages, taking after a similar event that is held in Milaca. Foley Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Emily Gasters talks about the different activities for kids and parents.
“We plan on doing face painting for the younger kids. There is an inflatable archery setup that the Boy Scouts are bringing. As far as for older parents, we are doing Hidden in Plain Sight.”
It’s an interactive booth for parents that simulates a teenager’s room. It teaches you to pick up on signs of potential substance abuse. A seatbelt simulator, plus information for affordable housing and senior living are also planned.
Wraparound Care Teacher Tiffany Neis runs through some of those exhibits. She says it really was easy to find programs targeting young to old.
“We have such a great, strong small community that we’re always looking to help those in need. We have a couple of different options in Foley. We have the care program, we have the Foley Nursing Home, we have a really great, small clinic here, and everybody was really onboard on meeting all ages.”
The Foley Community Connect Expo runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Admission is free.
