(KNSI) – The charity arm of Firehouse Subs is offering $5,000 scholarships to help students pursue a career as a firefighter, paramedic, or police officer.
The deadline to apply is April 15th, but the window could close early if 500 applications are received. Employees of Firehouse Subs and community members are both eligible. You need to be a high school senior, recent graduate, or current college student. Each application must include a recommendation letter.
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation organizers will narrow the field to 20 finalists. Each entry is evaluated based on your transcripts and academic success, showing leadership at school and in the community, prior work history, and financial need. The final grouping will be graded on a required written essay.
Firehouse Subs has 1,250 locations across the country. The first one was opened nearly 30 years ago. The restaurant chain has a St. Cloud location on 5th Avenue South inside the Coborn’s Plaza complex.
