(KNSI) – St. Cloud police say they have arrested one suspect who was allegedly involved in a shootout near the Great River Regional Library downtown on Saturday.

Eighteen-year-old Jatrell Robert Antonio Mitchell of St. Cloud was identified after several days of investigation and tracked to St. Anthony, where he was taken into custody without incident thanks to a joint operation.

St. Cloud Police Department investigators, the SCPD Community Response Team, and the Anoka-Hennepin Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force collaborated to pick up Mitchell on Tuesday. A release from the department says more arrests are expected related to the incident.

On Saturday, a man drove a vehicle into a parking lot on the 1300 block of West St. Germain Street, exited it on foot, and approached another man walking through the middle of the lot. The two exchanged gunfire, according to police. No one was hit. The incident is not believed to be random.

Both men fled before police arrived.
