(KNSI) – An eight-year-old boy from Elk River who died in a multi-vehicle accident Wednesday morning has been identified by the Minnesota State Patrol.
Joseph Ervin Fisher was a passenger in a Honda Accord driven by a 43-year-old woman. She was on 225th Avenue NW and attempted to cross Highway 169 when she was hit by a Mazda CX5 going north.
The SUV was driven by a 38-year-old man from New Hope. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The woman in the sedan was taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The initial Current Incident Report says it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
