(KNSI) – There are 71 new COVID-19 cases in the five-county area, as reported by the Minnesota Department of Health on Thursday.
Across the state, there are 928 new cases and 14 newly reported deaths from COVID-19, including a Wright County resident in their 70s.
COVID-19 test positivity remains relatively low; on Wednesday, the state processed 33,915 tests, and 2.7 percent came back positive.
On the other end of the state’s daily COVID-19 statistics, 710,305 Minnesotans have gotten their first vaccine shot as of Tuesday. They represent 12.8 percent of the state’s population.
Minnesota is closing in on getting 1 million first and second doses into arms, having so far administered 975,626 doses.
The percentage of COVID-19 vaccine recipients who have received their second dose is also increasing. More than 264,000 people have gotten a second shot, making up 37 percent of overall vaccine recipients. At the start of February, about a quarter of those who had started the vaccine series had gotten their second dose.
