(KNSI) — Residents of Stearns County can experience the Stearns History Museum for free this year.
Executive Director Amy Degerstrom acknowledged the county board of commissioners for making the opportunity possible. “We’re celebrating 40 years in our current building in 2024 and we thank the county for recognizing the importance of access for all to our museum. Membership is still an important aspect of our daily operating costs and we look forward to telling you about more affordable access to those benefits as well in the coming months.”
Commissioner Jeff Bertram sits on the Stearns County History Museum Board. He says he is consistently impressed by what the museum offers to guests. It was started in 1936 and is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
The museum is located in St. Cloud on 33rd Avenue South. It is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Programming and events will still require a paid ticket.
The organization’s website says it had 6,840 visitors in 2023.
