(KNSI) – The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission and Minnesota Commerce Department have scheduled a set of public hearings for a transmission line that will run through the region.
The Big Stone South-Alexandria-Big Oaks Transmission Project would carry electricity from South Dakota to a substation near the Sherco Plant. The line would use existing towers located along Interstate 94 locally. Each session would include a presentation from utility officials followed by a question-and-answer session that would be included in the public record to be considered by the PUC.
The only St. Cloud area meeting is Thursday, December 14th, at 11:00 a.m. at the College of St. Benedict. Doors open an hour earlier. It will last for up to two hours inside Gorecki Hall, Room 204.
You can also email or provide written comment until January 8th. Emails should be sent to Jenna Ness. Her address is jenna.ness@state.mn.us. Comments can be left on the Commerce Department’s website.
