(KNSI) – The Cathedral High School Education Foundation is awarding more than $500,000 in financial needs-based scholarships and grants to provide tuition assistance to families and other programming for students.
The Foundation says $569,000 will be going toward 235 scholarships and other grants to enhance academic programming in creative arts and cover some of the extra COVID-19 related expenses for the 2020/2021 academic year.
In a press release, Paul Pfannenstein, chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, says they can help most families who want to send their students to Cathedral, and roughly 40% of the students receive scholarships. Pfannenstein says many times that receiving a scholarship can be the difference between sending a student to Cathedral or not.
Since its inception in 1979, the Foundation has given over $14 million in tuition assistance to families.
