(KNSI) — Whether you need to work up an appetite or make room for your Thanksgiving feast, start Thursday with the YMCA Wishbone 5K.
The run is a long-standing local tradition in its 13th year, according to organizer Evin Haukos. “We see 1000s of people come out to the event. It’s really become a family tradition for people to get together, see their friends, get some exercise, feel good about themselves, and get their metabolism up and running for a day where they get to let loose and enjoy a good time.”
An average of 3,000 participants come out each year, and there are events for everyone. “We’ve got a 5k, two-mile walk, and then, of course, the EL Jay Plumbing Little Turkey 1k if you want to get the kids out and get them running before they get a bunch of pie on their face.”
It’s $5 to register. The running starts at 8:00 a.m. at the St. Cloud Area YMCA and winds through the neighborhood and along Whitney Park. CentraCare M Physicians Orthopedics is presenting the run.
