(KNSI) – Minnesota’s charitable 24-hour giving marathon holiday is underway.
The 15th annual Give to the Max Day started at Midnight and will continue until 11:59 p.m. tonight.
Give MN Deputy Executive Director Jenna Ray is excited about the creativity the anniversary gives donors to incorporate 15 into their giving. “You could give to 15 organizations across the state, or make donations in increments of $15. Or if you’ve participated in the past, maybe increase your giving by 15%. Whatever that number or whatever feels meaningful to you, I would encourage you to celebrate 15 years of Give to the Max with us by giving 15 in one of those or your own way.”
Ray explained to KNSI News the impact of Give to the Max is felt through the work of the 1000s of causes making life better for our neighbors and loved ones and is their lifeline. “They’re really working to make Minnesota a wonderful place for all of us to live. And in particular, for small and medium-sized nonprofits, Give to the Max is maybe their biggest or the only fundraiser of the year.”
She says those causes help provide care for battered women, food shelves, and animal shelters, help people experiencing homelessness, and support the arts. Ray added that Give to the Max powers our communities’ good work all year.
In 2022, the fundraiser brought in more than $34 million.
