(KNSI) — The last suspect in the case of a woman found shot to death and dumped on the side of the road has been sentenced.

A passerby discovered Keisa Marie Lange’s body on a dirt section of Cooper Avenue near 40th Street South on June 3rd, 2021. Police say Alicia Lewis was in the car as she and three others drove 25-year-old Lange to the area where another defendant, Deantae Davis, shot her while she was in the back middle seat. Lewis told investigators after the shooting, the group went back to an apartment in St. Cloud to clean up the car.

In February of 2022, Lewis reached a plea deal with prosecutors and confessed to a count of aiding and abetting murder. As part of the deal, she cooperated with the investigation and testified against Davis. The 25-year-old Davis was convicted at trial in April of first-degree murder and sentenced in July to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Another defendant, Kenneth Carter, was accused of shooting at Lange after she was tossed out of the car. He was acquitted in March. Thirty-six-year-old Angela Jones pleaded guilty to aiding an offender and being an accomplice after the fact. She was sentenced in August to a little more than 12 years in prison.

KNSI News was in the courtroom during Monday’s sentencing by Stearns County District Court Judge Heidi Schultz. When asked if she had anything to say before her punishment was announced, Lewis told the court, “I’m sorry.”

Lewis was given seven years in prison. The 38-year-old from St. Cloud must serve four years and eight months behind bars and the remaining two years and four months on supervised release. Lewis was given credit for 886 days already served. She has been in custody since June of 2021.

Police believe Lange was killed for being a suspected federal informant.
