(KNSI) — November 13th marks World Kindness Day, a day to promote and celebrate kindness and practice kindness in daily life.
It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement and is observed in several countries. There is a call for the United Nations to officially recognize the day and for the UN to sign a Declaration of Support for World Kindness.
It’s easy to participate by intentionally performing acts of kindness. It doesn’t have to be a large gesture. It could be as simple as holding a door for someone, helping a neighbor, leaving a positive note for a coworker, or paying someone a compliment.
Other suggestions include donating to a charity you believe in, volunteering for an organization, or buying a stranger’s coffee.
