(KNSI) – A woman was tased and arrested in St. Cloud after she allegedly tried to steal a car.
Police were called on Wednesday to the 600 block of 54th Avenue North around 4:40 a.m. for a possible vehicle theft in progress. Officers say they found a 22-year-old woman inside the vehicle and refused to get out. A press release says she was tased and then removed from the car.
Police identified her as Nyanchar Gach of St. Cloud.
She was taken to the Stearns County Jail, where she is being held on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, tampering with a motor vehicle, obstructing the legal process, and an outstanding arrest warrant for violating a no-contact order.
She is expected to be formally charged on Thursday.
