(KNSI) – The Wright County Sheriff’s Office honored those whose quick action saved the lives of three children and a man across four different incidents from January to August.

During Tuesday’s board of commissioners meeting, Sheriff Sean Deringer presented the 2023 Life Saving Awards to seven people who were in the right place at the right time.

On January 9th, Waverly Firefighter Josh Reed performed CPR on an unconscious infant. Through his relentless efforts, the baby began breathing.

According to officials, on February 19th, Adam Baumgarner and Alexander Johnson began CPR on a child who had stopped breathing while swimming. Due to their quick thinking and actions, the kid survived and is doing well.

On June 10th, Todd Walock, Joshua Walock, and Clayton Laney pulled a man from a vehicle that had gone into a lake. They were able to free the unconscious man from the sinking car and get him to shore.

On August 10th, Paul Nolden started doing CPR, back thrusts and rescue breathing on an unconscious infant. The sheriff’s office says because of his actions, the child survived.
