(KNSI) — Just in time for Veteran’s Day, the St. Cloud State University Library has made over 100 oral histories of World War II straight from those who lived through it available online.
University Archives digitized 112 oral histories from local veterans, both men, and women, that include audio with a transcript, a short biographical sketch, and a written summary of the interview. Nearly all of the interviews were done in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and those veterans would go on to either attend SCSU or be employed by the school. University Archives is St. Cloud State University’s record of university history and publications.

SCSU will also honor veterans on Thursday, November 9th, with a program and social. It is being hosted by the Student Veterans Organization and held inside the Voyager Room at Atwood Memorial Center from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. It features speeches from Retired U.S. Army Col. Laura Ludwig and SCSU alumnus Nicholas Lengyel, who is also a veteran.
The event is sponsored by the SCSU Veterans Resource Center, American Legion Post 76, Fighting Saints Batallion ROTC and the SCSU Chamber Choir. It is open to the public.
