Early Round High School Football Matchups Released

(KNSI) – A Week One rematch highlights early postseason play in high school football.

Detroit Lakes visited Cold Spring and hung on for a 27-25 win against ROCORI back in August. That narrow victory will give the Lakers home-field advantage on Saturday, October 28th. Three-seed ROCORI travels to #2 DL for a 1:00 p.m. kick off in Section 8AAAA. Top-seeded Becker, still undefeated, will get the winner of Princeton and Little Falls.

Sauk Rapids-Rice High School football finished with the best record in the St. Cloud metro area this year at 7-1. That has earned them a two-seed in Section 7AAAAA. The Storm will also get a bye until Saturday, October 28th, when they play the winner of (3) Elk River and (6) Duluth East. The Storm beat the Elks earlier this year.

(2) Upsala/Swanville has a bye until 10/28

Section 5AA

(1) Eden Valley-Watkins has a bye until 10/28. They will face the winner of (5) Royalton at (4) Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (7:00 p.m. 10/24).
(2) Kimball has a bye until 10/28. The Cubs will host the winner of (6) Paynesville at (3) Holdingford (7:00 p.m. 10/24).

Section 5AAA

(1) Annandale has a bye until 10/28. The Cardinals await the winner of (5) St. Cloud Cathedral at (4) Milaca (7:00 p.m. 10/24).
(6) St. Cloud Apollo at (3) Mora (7:00 p.m. 10/24)
(7) Pine City at (2) Foley (7:00 p.m. 10/24)

Section 6AAA

(5) Minnewaska at (4) Sauk Centre (7:00 p.m. 10/24). Winner goes to (1) New London-Spicer
(6) Melrose at (3) Montevideo. (2) Albany is next for the winner on 10/28.

Section 8AAAA

(5) Little Falls at (4) Princeton (7:00 p.m. 10/24). Undefeated Becker tackles the winner on 10/28.
(3) ROCORI at (2) Detroit Lakes (1:00 p.m. 10/28)

Section 7AAAAA

(2) Sauk Rapids-Rice will get the winner of (6) Duluth East at (3) Elk River at 1:00 p.m. on 10/28.
