(KNSI) — Catholic Charities of St. Cloud is calling for sponsors for the upcoming Share the Spirit program.
Share the Spirit takes community members and matches them with local needy families.
Melissa Blair manages the program and explains how it works. “When you sponsor a family, you receive a list of three wants and three needs for each household member. Families of all sizes are available for Share the Spirit sponsorship. We ask that donors spend a minimum of $70 per family member.”
Catholic Charities accepts individuals and families referred by area social workers, medical providers and education professionals. Individuals and families can be sponsors, but many hands make light work, so pooling resources is always an option with civic or church groups or coworkers.
Officials with Catholic Charities say families needing sponsorship aren’t asking for anything extravagant. The requests may be for socks, warm clothing, cozy blankets, or fluffy bath towels.

Gift-wrapped items are to be delivered to the Minnesota National Guard Armory on Thursday, December 14th.
