(KNSI) — Five Sherburne County Drug Task Force members are recovering after they were shot Thursday morning while executing a search warrant at a home in Glendorado Township.
Three of the officers are from the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department, one is from the Princeton Police Department, and another is from the Elk River Police Department. All of the injuries are considered non-life-threatening. They were taken to CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital and North Memorial Medical Center for treatment. Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff’s Department were also at the scene but were not hurt.
Police returned fire, and the suspect was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. The cause and severity of his injuries are not known.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has taken over the investigation.
More information will be released at a press conference this afternoon.
