(KNSI) — Gas is now under $3 a gallon in St. Cloud.
The Stop-n-Go on Clearwater Road South lowered their gas to $2.99 a gallon Friday afternoon. The Stop-n-Go is known to have the cheapest gas in town. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, they lowered their price to .99 cents a gallon.
According to AAA, overall demand is down, coupled with increased supply and the falling cost of oil, all leading to a decline in prices.
The average for a gallon of regular unleaded around St. Cloud is $3.50, four cents cheaper than on Thursday and 15 cents cheaper than a week ago.
