(KNSI) – A program designed to get more young people into the trades in Central Minnesota has a new leader.

Emily Davis has accepted the Exploring Potential Interests and Careers Coordinator position for the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. She was hired by the EPIC Board of Directors.

Davis will lead and support efforts to grow and expand the program. EPIC gets Central Minnesota students to partner with local educators, businesses and community leaders. The collaboration helps connect education and industry to push students into careers that contribute to local workforce needs.

Davis comes to St. Cloud from Blue Earth, where she was a community workforce coordinator with Community Development and Economic Associates (CEDA). Davis will begin in her role on Monday, September 25th.

The collaboration has grown since its inception in 2018.

According to a press release, over 4,500 students from over 25 area high schools will attend the EPIC student event on Friday, October 27th, at St. Cloud Technical and Community College.
