Sports Wrap: Albany Volleyball Pushes Past Pequot Lakes in Five Sets

Central Lakes Conference

St. Cloud Tech 3, Apollo 0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-18): Miracle Jensen once again leads the Tigers in kills with 10 but Tech is beginning to develop a deeper set of options in the attack. Reagan Lieser had seven kills and Leah Loesch added six. Izzy Glieden was the catalyst through her service game. She fueled multiple Tech runs with six aces.

Sartell 3, Fergus Falls 0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-12): Brenna McClure headed the charge for the Sabres with 14 kills. Grace Shulte picked up 26 assists and Aubrey Flynn had 19 digs. Sartell is undefeated.

Sauk Rapids-Rice 3, Alexandria 2 (25-21, 17-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12): The Storm take another step to join Sartell and ROCORI as part of a three-headed monster in the area. SR-R has now defeated Willmar and Alex. Ava Athman paced the Storm with 15 kills and sophomore Wendi Peterson added 11.

Granite Ridge Conference

Albany 3, Pequot Lakes 2 (21-25, 24-26, 25-16, 25-14, 16-14): The Huskies with the reverse sweep against one of the best teams in the state. Albany’s Hannah Klein led the pack with 18 kills, one of four players with at least nine in the contest. Ellery Ehresmann played traffic controller for all those offensive options with 46 assists. Klein also tallied 20 digs, tied for most on the team. Albany only has one loss on the year, against undefeated ROCORI.

Sartell 3, Brainerd 2: The Sabres made it 3-0 with only 10 minutes left but had to hang on as Sartell weathers the furious late charge from the Warriors. The Sabres are still undefeated on the season.
