(KNSI) – Drivers on Highway 23 near New London can expect delays starting next week.
A temporary detour for the South Gap project begins Monday, September 25th. Traffic will be detoured off of Highway 23 and onto County Road 31 or County Road 2, which is the main detour. Traffic will be rerouted until October 6th, weather permitting.
Crews are installing a temporary culvert at the Long Lake outlet to divert water around a new box culvert being installed.
The work is part of a $34.5 million project to widen Highway 23 to four lanes between Richmond and New London.
