Sports Wrap: ROCORI, Albany and Sartell Volleyball Among Top 13 in State QRF Rankings

Central Lakes Conference

Sartell 3, Alexandria 2 (25-15, 18-25, 25-13, 21-25, 15-13): The Cardinals gave the undefeated Sabres a fight, but Sartell escaped with the win. Abby Haus led Sartell with 23 kills. Brenna McClure added 14. Setter Grace Schulte fed them both on her way to 47 assists. Libero Aubrey Flynn patrolled the back row with 25 digs and threw in three aces as a cherry on top.

ROCORI 3, Willmar 2 (25-19, 13-25, 25-16, 19-25, 15-8): The Spartans stay undefeated but go five for the first time this year. Setter Ellery DeBoer of Willmar picked up her 1,000th career assist in the match.

Sauk Rapids-Rice 3, Brainerd 1 (18-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-16): After a slow start, the Storm began to rumble and rolled to an easy win in four sets. Ava Athman is well on her way to 600 career kills now. She notched another 14 Thursday. Wendi Peterson had 10, and Stella Lambaere registered six.

St. Cloud Tech 3, Fergus Falls 0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-23): The Tigers pick up their first win of the year, both in the conference and overall, on the road against the Otters. Sophomore Miracle Jensen tallied 15 kills. She was set up by Linzi Loesch, who secured 15 assists.

Granite Ridge Conference

Albany 3, Little Falls 0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-21): The Huskies improve to 2-0 in the conference and 11-1 overall. Their only loss is to undefeated ROCORI in the early bird tournament.

Cathedral 3, Mora 0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-16): The Crusaders have rattled off two consecutive straight-set wins, including Tuesday night against a 9-3 Foley squad.
